How to Use AgileLMS: Tips & Tricks

This page will give some guidance in using our learning management system (AgileLMS) and/or our native AgileLMS mobile app..

All tips on this page reflect our own personal experience with e-learning and those of our users, and are intended to help you get the most out of the online courses for yourself.

Feel free to find your own way and deviate from our tips where it makes sense to you.

1. Avoid Binge-Watching

Binge watching might be great to watch your favorite Netflix series, but it is not considered an effective technique for enhancing your learning and making the knowledge and insights we share stick.

One of the better ways is to schedule an appropriate and realistic amount of time that you can spend on e.g. a weekly basis and block that time in your calendar e.g. every Tuesday from 5 – 7 pm.

My team and I intentionally created short videos so that you can even fit them into smaller timeboxes.

2. Utilize Your Workbook: Take Notes and Learn Effectively

As a companion for most of the classes here, we have created a workbook specifically for the course so that your learning journey becomes truly sustainable. It’s best to download it right at the beginning of a course so you have it at your fingertips from the start.

In the workbook you will find enough space for your notes and for tracing the things your instructor will show you during the course. We want to encourage you to use this space, because it is really not difficult and contributes significantly to your learning success. This will also help you recall things later and also help you explain some of the facts and models you have learned to other people.

3. Engage with Our Community: Share and Ask

A self-paced online course normally does not allow for interaction between trainer and learners. Such a course usually does not allow interaction among learners either. We want to change this and therefore invite you to actively use our Community Space here in AgileLMS. This consists of various groups that are thematically assigned to the different courses.

When you enrolled in the course, you were automatically given access to the associated community. You can find an overview of your communities at the bottom of your dashboard or via the “My Groups” menu item at the top of the header menu.

Aldi Campus Members
As a member of the Aldi Campus, you have access to the private Aldi Campus Community, which is only accessible to selected employees of Aldi Group. If you would like to exchange and share internal information with your colleagues, you can do so in the private Aldi Campus Discussions.

If you would like to share feedback on the AgileLMS, the app or any of the courses with us, please feel free to use our various feedback options:

  • General Feedback
  • Report a Bug
  • dedicated forms for feedback and bug reports are also available within the Agile Academy App under Menu > Settings > Send us Feedback/Report a Bug

4. Follow the Provided Order of Lessons and Modules

Unless you are using this course as a refresher after participating in one of my live training classes, I highly recommend you follow the provided order. That will give you the best learning experience.

5. Mark All Lessons as “Completed”

Make sure you don’t forget to mark all lessons as “completed”. otherwise you won’t be able to download your certificate of completion at the end of the course.

6. Learn Anywhere: On the Go and Offline

If you want to learn on the go, we highly recommend you use our AgileLMS App (available for iOS and Android).

Although our AgileLMS is fully responsive, the app experience will be even better for learning on mobile devices. In addition, the Agile Academy app also allows you to download courses you are enrolled in for offline use. This way you can learn and follow your agile journey although with poor connectivity!
